The Rich-E Board is the most advanced insulation technology on the market today and features an R-50 Systems Vacuum Insulated Panel (VIP) sandwiched between two polymeric foam cover boards. The 1.5”, vacuum-sealed, high R-value, panel meets and exceeds all local/regional, national and federal guidelines while offering superior fire and mold resistance.
1. The Barrier Film
The Barrier Film is a multi-layered polyester film which can withstand wide temperature ranges. It provides a barrier that is more resilient, and by using polyester in lieu of the more used metalized film barriers, there is no edge heat transfer to reduce performance. This also means that it is nonconductive.
2. The Core
The Core is a proprietary borosilicate fiberglass matric. By using our core material, we were able to reduce the thermal conductivity from 0.025 (BTU-in/ft2-hr-F) to 0.02 (BTU-in/ft2-hr-F), a 20% improvement.
3. Top and Bottom protective layers
The two layers adhered to the Vacuum Insulated Panel (VIP) are a heavy density polyisocyanurate protection board. The trade name for this material is Invinsa by Johns-Manville. This board is adhered to the VIP panel to allow for easier handling on construction projects. It is extremely light weight, can withstand high impact, has a high compressive strength and an excellent substrate for various applications.
